EllisDon Vancouver Stands Up for Mental Health

On Sunday, EllisDon proudly presented the Champion of the Crescent Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) charity race, raising $128,000 for the new Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Stabilization Unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital. The event took place at Blackie Spit Park in Surrey, BC, and featured 10k, 5k, Corporate Relay, and kids’ races, SUP yoga, and family activities.

“Participating in Champion of the Crescent will help provide a safe place, for children affected by mental health issues, to receive the care and treatment they need,” says David McFarlane, Vice President and BC Area Manager at EllisDon.

“Our goal is to help raise $2 million to design Canada's most family friendly and progressive Children's Unit. It will open by 2017 and help 1,000 children a year. It will be built in our community at Surrey Hospital & Outpatient Centre.”
