Say No to Racism Week at EllisDon

EllisDon’s internal Anti-Black racism leadership group launched their annual Say No to Anti-Black Racism Week, with the theme "Racism has No Place Here. See Something, Say Something.”All EllisDon sites were provided with a toolkit that included posters, a guided team discussion on how to be inclusive, and an opportunity to participate in an open conversation on anti-racism activists. The intent was to provide our employees with the tools to have meaningful discussions to reflect on and implement inclusivity of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) population at our sites, workplaces, and in the community.

"Personally, I want to say a big thank you to everyone that participated in this year's Say No to Racism Week,” says Samuel Ajobo, Chair of EllisDon's ABEEL (Alliance of Black Employee Experience & Leadership) group and Project Manager at EllisDon. “Likewise, I want to say a big congratulations to the winning project sites. It is inevitable that encouraging effective Allyship is fundamental in creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive society. Considering the deep-rooted systemic issues around anti-Black racism, it is commendable without a doubt that our teams invested some time and energy in embracing ideas around being inclusive of the Black Experience. It doesn't stop now, let's keep going!"

EllisDon is committed to creating safe workspaces for our employees, clients, contractors, and sub-contractors.
