Schulich School of Engineering recognizes EllisDon Calgary’s Vince Davoli

Dean's 25th Annual Holiday Reception honours award winners

On December 8th, Schulich School of Engineering celebrated its 25th annual Dean’s Holiday Reception. Close to 500 business leaders, donors, and alumni gathered with University of Calgary students, faculty and staff to celebrate leadership in engineering and recognize industry leaders.In recognition of his outstanding achievements, determined leadership, and generosity in sharing, Vince Davoli, P.Eng and Senior Vice President of EllisDon for Western Canada was presented with the prestigious Canadian Engineering Leader Award.A Schulich School of Engineering alumnus, Davoli obtained his B.Sc. Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary and has been a long-time supporter of the School. He serves on the cabinet for the successful Engineering Leaders Campaign, and was a member of the Engineering Associates Program member for over 15 years.“This is an outstanding and well deserved achievement. Vince’s leadership on behalf of EllisDon - and also as a great citizen in support of so many causes and people that need help qualifies him as a very special person. Yet he always does it so humbly that he rarely gets the recognition and thanks that he has earned,” said Geoff Smith, CEO & President, EllisDon.Davoli has been working at EllisDon for over 30 years and is in transition into retirement. Working his way up to his current role as Senior Vice President, Davoli has been instrumental in leading a team of results oriented professionals and has earned the respect of many individuals across the construction industry.
“I did not set out to be a leader, I set out to make a difference,” said Davoli, Senior Vice-President at EllisDon, when receiving the award. “We all have a role to play by bringing positive values forward to do good for all.”Davoli is an outstanding member of society and has supported a number of community initiatives in many different capacities including Director of Renfrew Educational Services helping children with special needs soar; and ConnecTeen, which offers confidential peer support services for youth in Calgary and area through phone, text, chat and email.EllisDon proudly recognizes Vince for his achievements both professionally and within the community.
