VR Technology Offers Staff a Sneak Peek of the Future Cowichan District Hospital

The Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project is well underway, and thanks to EllisDon's cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) technology, current hospital staff are getting an early look at their future workplace. Scott Hunter, VDC Area Manager for Buildings, Alberta & Civil West, recently discussed with CTV News Vancouver Island how this innovation is not only allowing staff to provide input on the design and layout but also ensuring that the new hospital will be ergonomically optimized for their needs. By utilizing VR technology, healthcare teams can explore their spaces to ensure they’re safe and functional for patients and staff, save costs, and improve environmental sustainability by reducing the need for physical mock-ups.
