Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre in Halifax has Reached Substantial Completion

The new Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre in Halifax is reached substantial completion on August 15 after three years of extensive planning and collaboration.  Aiming to open to the public in November 2023. The project was completed on time and on budget. We were awarded the contract back in 2020 to design, build, finance and maintain the facility. Maintenance contract is 30 years.  The Community Outpatient Centre is Nova Scotia’s first public-private partnership (P3) healthcare project and its largest healthcare project to date.

It features 104 clinical spaces and will support delivery of a number of healthcare services, including primary care, renal dialysis, diagnostic imaging, eye care, and orthopedic assessment and rehabilitation. The Community Outpatient Centre is part of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre (QEII) redevelopment project. As the largest health sciences centre in Atlantic Canada, the improvement of the QEII will help support how care is delivered to all Nova Scotians by building new, modern facilities with advanced equipment and technology.
