This year's virtual event will feature EllisDon employee spotlights, guest speakers including a Paralympian, and a fireside chat with Geoff Smith, President and CEO, and Paul Trudel, Senior Vice President of People and Culture, all focusing on Breaking the Bias.

Register for this virtual, free event as soon as you can! Below is a sneak peek of our employee spotlights who will feature during the event.

Chinyere Johnson, Assistant Project Manager

Chinyere joined EllisDon in early 2021 as an Assistant Project Manager within the Toronto Building Group. She has over eight years of Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI) construction project management experience. In her previous roles, she managed construction project delivery from initiating to closing for new construction and rehabilitation projects. Chinyere has an architectural background in addition to her construction management experience and enjoys the integration of the two in developing her career.

Daniela Teixeira Xavier, Health, Safety, and Environmental Coordinator

Daniela has been working for EllisDon for almost 4 years. After 3 years of working in various departments such as Accounting, Emergency Dispatch, and ultimately Health and Safety, Daniela knew a career in Construction was what she wanted to pursue. In 2018 Daniela was given the opportunity to work for EllisDon in the Civil Division. Starting off as Administration, through career discussions, Daniela was encouraged to continue her studies in Occupational Health and Safety and to remain working in the Civil Division full-time. Daniela is currently working towards her NCSO designation and has since moved from Civil to the Corporate team. Her career at EllisDon, Volunteering with 2gether and WomanAct has really allowed her the opportunity to not only progress as a person but as a Female working in the Construction Industry. Daniela’s passion is to continue engagement and encourage Women to break the bias and be curious about potential careers in the Construction Sector.

Lorinda Spencer, Assistant Superintendent

Lorinda currently works on EllisDon’s Oakridge Redevelopment project and has over 12 years of experience in construction and associated industries. She was hired at EllisDon 7 years ago as a safety coordinator before becoming an assistant superintendent. This experience has given her a solid foundation in construction best practices.
