ED Ladies Step Up for Habitat

On Friday, September 23rd, the ladies of EllisDon volunteered their time to participate and give back to a great cause — Habitat for Humanity GTA’s Women Build. Twelve women, mixed from our corporate office and on-site, put on their hard hats and safety shoes and helped in the construction of 15 new homes on Pinery Trail in Scarborough, ON.In the weeks leading up to the event the participants worked diligently to collect donations for the cause. Through their individual efforts the women raised $7,572.00.

“This was a humbling experience for the group as we literally saw something be built from the ground up, and knowing our contribution would provide future homes for families less fortunate, “ said Natasha Paolini, Sr. Proposal Coordinator.Starting in 2009, Habitat for Humanity GTA has been bringing together women to help local, low-income families, build safe and affordable housing for a place to call home. Since its inception, the annual Women Build event has gathered over 5,000 women, raised over $4 million, and built 85 homes. This year Women Build started the largest home building project in Habitat for Humanity GTA’s history by building foundations and raising walls for 50 townhouses on Pinery Trail.
