EllisDon Achieves Financial Close on the CHEO Integrated Treatment Centre (1Door4Care) Project

Ottawa, ON, September 28, 2023 — EllisDon Infrastructure OCH Inc. is pleased to announce that it has reached Financial Close on the CHEO Integrated Treatment Centre (1Door4Care) project.

The new treatment centre will bring together programs and services for kids and youth living with complex medical, developmental, behavioural or mental health needs into a new, state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility on CHEO’s main Smyth Road campus.

Infrastructure Ontario and CHEO selected EllisDon Infrastructure OCH Inc. to design, build and finance the treatment centre after extensive evaluations following an open, fair, and competitive request for proposals process that began in November 2022. The EllisDon Infrastructure OCH Inc. team consists of:

  • Design Team: Montgomery Sisam Architects Inc., Vertechs Design Inc., WalterFedy, Mulvey & Banani International Inc., H. H. Angus and Associates Limited, Entuitive Corporation
  • Construction Team: EllisDon Corporation
  • Financial Advisor: EllisDon Capital Inc.

The CHEO Integrated Treatment Centre will be a state-of-the-art facility which will include multi-use clinic space, a physiotherapy rehab gym, mental health clinics, warm and welcoming indoor and outdoor multi-use spaces for children and youth with complex needs, modern treatment rooms for kids with behavioural needs, advanced technology to enable virtual care, a physical link to CHEO’s hospital, family support spaces, and a new parking structure.

Construction for this multi-year project, which also includes a new parking garage, is expected to begin in November 2023 and substantial completion is expected in fall 2027.
