EllisDon Celebrates Topping Off Milestone for Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project

EllisDon is proud to be a part of the Cowichan District Hospital Replacement Project and an incredible milestone with the recent Topping Off Beam Signing event on May 23, 2024. British Columbia's Minister of Health, Adrian Dix, was joined by our skilled trade workers, Cowichan Tribes, members of the Nuts'a'maat Alliance, community partners, and hospital staff to commemorate the structural completion of the Diagnostic and Treatment Centre
The event represents a key milestone in the ongoing construction of a new hospital that will serve the growing needs of the broader Cowichan region. Community partners and staff were invited to sign a 40 ft. steel beam to commemorate their involvement in the project before it was lifted into place. The event also included a BBQ and traditional dances by Cowichan’s Tzinquaw Dancers.
As part of the Nuts'a'maat Alliance, EllisDon is committed to serving the unique needs of the Cowichan region and is honoured to have contributed to this important project. The Alliance includes Parkin Architects, Island Health, Infrastructure BC and BCIB, in collaboration with the local Nations and hospital user groups. Teams have worked tirelessly to reach this milestone and will deliver a high-quality healthcare facility that meets the needs of patients, staff, and the community.
