EllisDon Secures Three Spots on On-Site Magazine's Top 40 Under 40 List
Mississauga, ON, September 17, 2024 — EllisDon’s Manik Raina, Vice-President, Legal Services, Mark Gaglione, Director of Building and Material Sciences and Vincent Davenport, Director of Building and Material Sciences, were named in On-Site and Site Partners' 40 Under 40 Canadian Construction list.
On-Site Magazine and Site Partner’s annual 40 Under 40 awards recognize the most exceptional, progressive, and innovative young leaders who are advancing the movement of construction in Canada.
Manik started with EllisDon in 2018 and has played an integral part in the pursuit and closing of P3 and other infrastructure projects across North America. This includes reviewing procurement and financing documentation, negotiating inter-consortium agreements and project agreements, and resolving disputes. In his current role as Vice-President of Legal Services at EllisDon, Manik leads the legal team’s advisory services with respect to P3’s, infrastructure and real estate development projects and is responsible for the preparation, review and negotiation of commercial contracts for the financing, development, construction and maintenance of such EllisDon initiatives.
"Manik's success is a testament to his dedication, and his calm and principled approach to dealing with complex issues,” said Michael Casey, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, EllisDon. “He has grown into an absolute industry leader in bidding and closing the biggest infrastructure projects in Canada and supports the company in any emerging issue that requires a legal solution. I rely on Manik every single day and his practical and forward-thinking attitude distinguishes him from his peers — rightfully earning him this accolade."
Mark and Vincent, with their collective industry experience of 27+ years, are leading figures in advancing mass timber construction technology. Their collaborative efforts have been instrumental in propelling sustainable building practices forward. Notably, they have co-developed the cutting-edge Hybrid Timber Floor System and EllisDon's own mass timber modular system. Their leadership roles in groundbreaking projects like the Centennial College A-Building Expansion—the first large-scale mass timber structure in Ontario's post-secondary landscape—as well as the Humber Cultural Hub and the PNE Amphitheatre, underscore their commitment to innovation in construction.
“Mark and Vincent are exemplary team leaders,” said David Klassen, Senior Vice President, Design Build & Construction Sciences, EllisDon. “Their innovative approach and dedication to low-carbon materials are reshaping the construction landscape and has positioned EllisDon as a leader in sustainable construction. Their technical expertise and mentorship are unparalleled, and I cannot think of better individuals to receive this honour.”
This is the fifth year EllisDon leaders have been recognized on the On-Site and Site Partners’40 Under 40 list. The winners are selected by a panel of judges based on professional achievements, innovation, leadership, and community involvement.
