EllisDon celebrated in top employer supplement in the Financial Post Mississauga, December 4, 2014 – EllisDon has been recognized as one of the Ten Best Companies to Work For for 2015, as selected from Mediacorp Canada Inc.'s original Canada's Top 100 Employers list. Now entering its tenth year, the Ten Best Companies to Work For competition is organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers, who award this designation to fast-growing companies that offer their employees tremendous career opportunities, leading-edge perks, and unmatched benefits. As is the custom, the Financial Post is honouring this year's winners in a special newspaper supplement being released today. This year's editorial team committed over 400,000 words to explaining why each winner was chosen— a distinguishing feature of this competition. The companies that make up the 2015 list were handpicked from the original Canada's Top 100 Employers list— by editors of the same— for exhibiting rapid revenue and workforce growth. Top contenders were reviewed for recruitment and retention policies under the same eight criteria as Canada's Top 100 Employers, including physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time-off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement. The remaining companies were then compared against those in similar fields for reference. From here, the list of the most progressive and forward-thinking employers was finalized. "The Ten Best Companies to Work For designation is a testament to EllisDon's employee-centered values, and the outstanding work environment and careers our employees deliver to one another," said Rosemarie Lipman, EllisDon's Vice President, People and Culture."It's an honour to be recognized alongside other outstanding companies for putting people first." EllisDon, a first-time winner of this award, stands out for fostering an employee-centered culture that offers a share purchase plan and profit-sharing; supportive retirement planning assistance and a defined contribution pension plan; subsidies for tuition and professional accreditation; and formal career planning services.
